Today we went to three different schools: Casa Maya, Suquiat, and China. As we went to these schools, we gave them certain things like dental supplies, balls to play with and frisbees. Before all this happened, we went to an orchard to do agriculture work; we pulled out chili plants and weeds. When we visited Suquiat, I was really surprised that most of the students don’t go to high school because it’s too expensive for transportation to get there. It is sad to hear that they don’t get the same opportunity as we do. It’s nice to see kids come up to us knowing something good is going to happen.
Later that day we went to a waterfall. It was my first time actually seeing a waterfall- it was very peaceful. After that we went to see the mayor of Santo Domingo. He was a very nice man, who cares about his people and people who visit.
